The Heritage Tour

We suggest in our brochure two 15 - day tours - the ISLAND TOUR or the ISLAND SAFARI TOUR - as examples of what you can see and do in a limited time. However, if you are able to stay longer and would like to alter the length or type of tour to suit yourself, please contact us for a quote for a personalised itinerary of your choice. With our considerable knowledge of the country we can provide an individual service to ensure you make the most of your holiday by arranging anything from a short stop-over to a longer more complicated itinerary. You will be met on arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport by your helpful and reliable English speaking Driver Guide in air-conditioned transport who can remain with you for the duration of your tour except whilst you are relaxing at your beach hotel. You can retain your Driver Guide at the beach hotel if desired.

Heritage Tour: The Tea Trail and Special Places to Stay

For some, Ceylon re-visited is a trip down memory lane whether it be a nostalgic visit to a relative's tea estate, to reminisce about school days spent at The Hill School in Nuwara Eliya; to go in search of an ancestor's resting place or a desire to soak up the British heritage and capture the Colonial atmosphere of yesteryear in Colombo, Kandy and Galle.

We can plan a trip to include any of these or for those first-time visitors who wish to embark on an heritage tour. We would highly recommend a stay in a planter's bungalow on a tea estate, at the home of a Kandyan chief's daughter, the beach bungalow recently owned by an eminent Sri Lanka architect or a small personal hotel in a colonial bungalow built in 1870 for a Scottish Nutmeg Merchant. Parts of The Cultural Triangle, where the accommodation is new apart from at the Rest Houses of old, have been excavated comparatively recently thanks to the work of UNESCO. We can also arrange and discuss a combination of the new and the old and off the beaten track or renting a villa.
